My collection of work explores the complexities of identity, cultural belonging, as well as personal experience and history as a biracial woman. The pieces curated for my portfolio reflect a continuous examination of Asian diaspora identities and the theme of beauty and struggle of self-acceptance. By focusing on painting and also utilizing photography, and embroidery I bridge the dissonance between my Western upbringing and my Indo-Mauritian heritage, redefining what it truly means to be “Indian enough.”
